Overview
claudemcp.io ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at claudemcp.io. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.
Data We Collect
- GitHub OAuth data. When you sign in with GitHub we receive your GitHub username, public email address, and avatar URL. We store these to create and display your account.
- Submitted content. Items you submit to the directory (titles, descriptions, URLs, tags) are stored in our database and displayed publicly.
- Analytics events. We use PostHog to collect anonymised page-view and interaction events (pages visited, features clicked). No personally identifiable information is attached to these events unless you are signed in, in which case your user ID may be associated with events to help us understand engagement.
- Advertising and payment data. Advertisers who purchase sponsorships provide contact details and payment information processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store raw card numbers.
How We Use Your Data
- Authenticate you and display your profile on submitted content.
- Show your submitted items in the public directory.
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- Process and manage advertising orders.
- Communicate with you if you contact us directly.
Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third parties only as necessary to operate the site:
- GitHub — OAuth authentication provider.
- PostHog — product analytics. Data may be stored on PostHog's EU or US infrastructure.
- Stripe — payment processing for advertising orders.
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure provider.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data Retention
Account data and submitted content are retained until you request deletion. Analytics events are retained per PostHog's default retention policy. Payment records are retained as required by applicable law and Stripe's policies.
Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, open a GitHub issue in our public repository or contact us via the email listed on our GitHub profile. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use cookies to maintain your authentication session and for PostHog analytics. No advertising-targeting cookies are placed by us directly.
